Does anyone know how or what formula BeerSmith uses to convert SRM to RGB colors? I have a digital tap board that just doesn't to match up to the colors produced by the BeerSmith program and would like to modify it to produce something closer and more representative of the beer. Thanks

Tools/options/units will bring you to where you can select SRM or EBC, the two models used for color in the brewing industry. You won't find a converter for RGB in brewing software.

The standard methods for measuring the color of beer both depend upon the absorption of light at one wavelength. There is no way to convert this to standard colorimetric values such as RGB. Most programs take the standard color chart developed the original Lovibond color standards which were solutions of Iodine of varying concentration to be compared to a like sized sample of the beer.

Most color charts are based upon this original tool for color evaluation.
