Hi

If I go to Options- Units- Yeast Units - I am selecting ml - (there is no gram option for dry yeast)

When I make a recipe and I - add Yeast - it has a package unit.

How do I fix it?

Thanks Gary

Hi
Currently all yeasts are done by packages except for yeast extract which is in ml. The next version of BeerSmith which I'm working hard on now will have both grams for dry yeast and volumes for liquid yeast as an option.

Thank you Brad

I am looking forward to the next version.
Currently I keep my post brewing notes on a paper excel file blank.
Day/Date/Time/Plato/Temp of FV/PSI/pH It would be nice to do this in Beersmith.

Thanks for all the hardwork!
Cheers

I seem to recall @Oginme had a workaround for this. Perhaps he will chime in.
The easy work around is to redefine what a packet is. When I am reusing a yeast slurry, I edit the yeast to represent number of viable cells per ml of slurry. Since each recipe is a self-contained archive, it retains the information and recalculates the number of 'packets' needed in the yeast tab.

Basically, do not allow yourself to be limited by the nomenclature of the software.
