63 year old newbie trying my hand at beer. Made mead for years. Finding beer to be a lot more complicated but am learning. Steep learning curve. Hoping to get better as I am struggling with my first several batches. Hope to learn more here.

Welcome! There are certainly some people here who can help if you have any questions.

There are some great books out there with all the information you need. How to Brew by John Palmer is one of the best IMO.

Coming from meade you probably have some equipment that can also be used in beer making. The easiest way to get into beer brewing these days is to start with an all-in-one (AiO) electric system. You can mash and boil in the same kettle. Some electric units use regular 110v household current and others like the Anvil Foundry 6.5 and 10.5 are even switchable to use both 110 or 220. Most everything that comes with them can be stored in the main kettle when not in use so you can stash them easily in a closet. You can find them in a wide range of costs from just a few hundred dollars to a thousand or more. Spend some time doing your research and have fun.
