I've been casually making mead and wine for two years now. Health issues forced me into early retirement. So now I get to delve into crafting my own ale, beer, braggot, cider, gruit, mead, and wine. Need something to do when the weather is too nasty to fish! LOL!!

Welcome Jaxom65.

Where are you that the weather is sometimes too nasty to fish?

I live in the high desert where temperatures range from single digits to 105 or so. Two things I never let the weather control. Brewing and barbecuing. Up until I reached 75, fishing was included too.

I wouldn't have let it stop me either, a few years ago. But since being diagnosed with COPD, it's become harder to get out in the humidity we have in SE Missouri. When it's not humid, there are tornadoes this year! LOL!

I am still a couple years away from pursuing my hobbies full time. Enjoy your well earned life!

Love the energy in this! It’s inspiring to see someone embracing retirement with passion and excitement, ready to dive into new hobbies like brewing.

Congrats! Retiring myself on April 1st...time will tell if it makes me brew more our not!
