Why in the stats section in the session tab for one recipe have an est attenuation of 52% and in another with the same grist show an est attenuation of 69.5?

I cannot seem to figure out what changed?

Can you export both recipes (file->Export Selected) and post the bsmx file? Usually this is a difference in equipment though if you want to compare the two equipment profiles.

Checking your equipment records and grinding conditions may reveal the cause of the discrepancy sometimes small changes in the brewing process can lead to unexpected results.

Yes make sure that both recipes have the same equipment profile and mash profile (as mash temps also drive attenuation).
