The Beersmith equipment list doesn't show an 8-gallon boil pot. I can see how to add one, but I'm new to this game and don't know what values to fill into the various boxes for an 8-gallon pot. Any ideas where I can find the right values?

Thanks in advance.

Boil some water and measure. Then measure for your first 5 or so beers until you get a good average.

I think "Pot and Cooler ( 5 Gal/19 L) - All Grain" should work for you.

It assumes a 5 gallon batch/6.5 gallon boil. I have a 10 gallon pot and this is what I copied and modified for myself so it would default to a 5.5 gallon batch and change the mash tun parameters a little.

Equipment Profile: My Equipment
Batch Size: 5.50 gal

Mash Tun Volume: 5.20 gal
Mash Tun Weight: 4 lbs
Mash Tun Specific Heat: 0.30
Lauter Tun Deadspace: 0.15 gal

Boil Size: 7.04 gal
Boil Time: 60 min
Evaporation Rate: 7.7 %
Calculate Boil Size: TRUE
Kettle Top Up Water: 0.00 gal
Hop Utilization Adjustment: 100.00 %

Trub/Chiller Loss: 0.75 gal
Cooling Loss: 4.00
Top Up Water into Fermenter: 0.00 gal
