I am going to be using a converted keg as a brew pot. I am trying to set it up as a new brew pot and have a question. Can someone tell me how you would calculate what the evaporation rate would be? Is there some kind of formula or is it a best guess.

It is usually 10%-15% per hour.  The type of keg makes a difference as does vigorousness of the boil.  I find that mine is a about a gallon per hour.

Well you have so many variables:
Altitude, keg geometry, the Burner, the gas,  the distances from burner to vessel, whether you use a heat skirt - etc., etc., etc..
Why not just let 'er rip and work from actual data?

Thanks for the info I will set it to about 12% and let'er rip like CR said and see how much evaporates
