Hello from North Eastern MA. I started brewing in 2000 for a few years then quite a long break with off and on brewing. currently brewing with a ten gallon igloo mash tun and a ten gallon pot so nothing fancy.
look forward to talking and learning with everyone.

Cheers,
Jay

Welcome Mac, glad to have you on the forums because I'm a nice guy I always share a recipe to new forum members. Because home Brewers share.

This is a recipe for a British Strong Ale

4 pounds 8oz Pale Malt, Maris Otter
4 pounds 8oz Pale Malt(2Row)UK
14oz Caramel/Crystal Malt 40L
1 pound Cara-Pils/Dextrine
6oz Black Patent Malt
1oz Fuggles Hops(60 min boil)
1oz Golding,East Kent Hops(30 min boil)
1oz Galaxy Hops(15 min boil)
1 Package WLP005 British Ale
Half a whirlfloc tablet as this is a 5 gallon batch.(5 min boil)
1 tsp yeast nutrient(5 min boil)

I'm recommending 1 hour wort boil because I think that would be optimal so times for hops account for that.

you can replace the pale malt 2row with flaked wheat or barley if you want.

Thanks
Ck

Thank you that looks good, might be my next batch.

Looking forward to hear about it, just saw your reply now as I haven't been on beersmith for a bit, been busy with 4 batches of beer its a relentless hobby, as soon as I'm done with a batch I just get the bug to make another one and before you know it I have 500 bottles of beer.
