Add new items to inventory from the recipe designer

I'd love to be able to add a new item to my hop/grain/misc/yeast list from the recipe designer. I've had to close my recipe, open my inventory, add the item, go back to the recipe and add it to the beer, seems counter-intuitive.

The function as you've described it (adding something new from the recipe) is already in BeerSmith. Check the column on the right, under the glass. The button marked "Save Item" will let you modify an item in the recipe and save it to the corresponding database. It will not, however, change the inventory to the item.
