Cannot Import .BSM files to BeerSmith 2 on Macbook

I get "error importing file" every time I try to import a .bsm file into BeerSmith 2 on my Macbook Pro. I've tried to open it from BeerSmith 2 or import by clicking on the file and get the same error. Any solution to this?

It opened correctly for me by just clicking on the recipe (with BeerSmith closed) and I was able to copy/paste it into a folder.
 
I've tried that several times with the same "error importing file" message. I run OS X Yosemite  ver. 10.10.2 on my Macbook. I've never been able to import a bsm file.
 
This seems to be an issue within OS X and may have to do with the permissions settings for you as the user.

Some old BSM files don't import well on the 64 bit Mac version.  If you can't get them to import just email the BSM file to beersmith at beersmith.com and I'll convert them for you using the PC version.
