I just was given 10 lbs of muntons cara pils and 10 lbs muntons black patent, both unmilled.  Also there is about 10 lbs unknown crushed grain.  They all look fine but have been sitting a couple of years.  Any recipe ideas?  I'm new to it all so anything safe would be good "practice".  Thanks

The black patent is probably fine. You only use a few ounces at a time anyway.

I'd taste the carapils. If it's crunchy and tastes good, use it. If it tastes stale I'd pitch it.

Pitch out the crushed grain.  I've used uncrushed grain after six months.  If I remember correctly, uncrushed grain will be ok up to a year or more, as long as you keep it dry and sealed from bugs.

Uncrushed grain starts to deteriorate immediately after crushing it.  I wouldn't use crushed grain after about 3 weeks.
